2019 Mock Draft 2.0

Our second mock of this NFL Draft season. This will be a 2 round mock and will include first round trades. This not meant to be a prediction, but rather playing GM for each NFL team.

Round 1

#1 Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray – QB – Oklahoma | It’s looking more and more like this is a done deal. Arizona gets a fresh start with a new head coach and new starting quarterback. They just need to figure out what to do with Josh Rosen, which brings me to this…

*TRADE – The Cardinals send Josh Rosen to the Redskins for pick #46 and Case Keenum

This won’t be announced until later, but I believe this is a likely trade to go down. I initially had Washington sending their second and a next year 4th or 5th, but It makes sense to send Keenum in the mix. He’s the perfect veteran to put with Murray.

#2 San Francisco 49ers

Nick Bosa – EDGE – Ohio St | With essentially now the 1st pick in the draft, the 49ers will happily run up and select Nick Bosa. A front now with Bosa, Dee Ford, and DeForest Buckner will be a force in the NFC West.

#3 New York Jets

Josh Allen – EDGE – Kentucky | The Jets now also reap the benefits of a QB going 1st overall. They get their hands on a top edge rusher. They could consider going Quinnen Williams here, but you can’t deny the positional value here.

#4 Cincinnati Bengals (from Oakland Raiders)

*Trade – Cincinnati sends picks #11, #42, and a 2020 1st to Oakland for #4

Dwayne Haskins – QB – Ohio St | Another new head coach with a new quarterback. Cincinnati will look to have Haskins sit for a year behind Dalton. Haskins has the tools to be a big time QB for the Bengals and big a big draw for fans.

#5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Quinnen Williams – DT – Alabama | Tampa can’t pass up an opportunity to grab a talent like Williams. They can have early down 3-4 or 4-3 under looks with Williams, McCoy, and Vea on the field together, and a rotation of 2/3 in nickel or pass rushing packages. Either way, I don’t think they’d pass up on a guy that some have projected the top prospect in the draft.

#6 New York Giants

Jawaan Taylor – OT – Florida | With Haskins off the board, the Giants are happy to sit back a quitely put together one of the best offensive lines in the league. Taylor would step right in at right tackle from day 1.

#7 Jacksonville Jaguars

DK Metcalf – WR – Ole Miss | The Jaguars have their supposed franchise QB in Nick Foles, its time to put more weapons around him.

#8 Detroit Lions

Brian Burns – EDGE – Flordia St | Detroit will definitely be looking on the defensive side of the ball. Burns is the top one on the board.

#9 Buffalo Bills

Ed Oliver – DT – Houston | The Bills need some help in the trenches, especially with the retirement of Kyle Williams. Ed Oliver is a dominant force up front.

#10 Denver Broncos

Devin White – LB – LSU | Linebacker is the top need for Denver so they grab the best one on the board. There is a big drop off from the top 2 LBs to the next level, so they won’t take a chance on trying to grab one later.

#11 Oakland Raiders (from Cincinnati Bengals)

Rashan Gary – EDGE – Michigan| In true Raider form, they take a chance on the freak athlete. Hard nosed defender that is going to need to learn some more moves at the next level, but could be a great counterpoint to last years third round pick, Arden Key.

#12 Green Bay Packers

TJ Hockenson – TE – Iowa | Jimmy Graham was not good for the Pack last year. Hockenson is a true Y that will instantly become a favorite target of Aaron Rodgers.

#13 Miami Dolphins

Andre Dillard – OT – Washington St | Miami is building for 2020. They lock down the best LT in the draft to be the anchor and protector for whoever they draft to play QB in next years draft.

#14 Atlanta Falcons

Christian Wilkins – DT – Clemson | If it wasn’t for the injury, this is where I saw Jeffery Simmons coming off the board. Wilkins is still a great fit here. Athletic and smart 3 tech. Would be a great compliment alongside Grady Jarrett.

#15 Houston Texans (from Washington Redskins)

*Trade – Houston sends picks #23 and #54 to Washington for picks #15 and #173

Jonah Williams – OT – Alabama | Redskins recoup the second round pick they lost trading for Rosen. The Texans happily give up one of their 2 second round picks to trade up for Jonah Williams, who some consider to be the best lineman in this class. A 4 year starter a Alabama, Williams is determined to show he can play LT at the next level, but also projects well at guard. Deshaun Watson rejoices.

#16 Carolina Panthers

Clelin Ferrell – EDGE – Clemson | The Panthers have been needing to get younger on the defensive line for about 10 years now. Ferrell is a complete package who can step in right away at defensive end. Great to see RVA represented.

#17 New York Giants (from Cleveland Browns)

Byron Murphy – CB – Washington | Giants forgo taking a QB and instead grab one of he top corners in the draft. Instant boost to the defense.

#18 Minnesota Vikings

Cody Ford – OL – Oklahoma | I think if the Vikings don’t take an offensive lineman here their die hard fan-base may revolt.

#19 Tennessee Titans

AJ Brown – WR – Ole Miss | Titans add another option for Mariota. I believe Brown to be the safest choice among these 1st-2nd round wide receivers.

#20 Pittsburgh Steelers

Devin Bush – LB – Michigan | The Steelers primary need is at linebacker and after Bush, there’s a steep drop off to the next level of linebackers. Easy choice for the Steelers.

#21 New England Patriots (from Seattle Seahawks)

*Trade – New England sends picks #32, #64, and #246 to Seattle for #21

Noah Fant – TE – Iowa | Patriots use their plethora of picks to trade up to get a first round replacement for Gronk. Seattle recoups a second round pick.

#22 Baltimore Ravens

N’Keal Harry – WR – Arizona St | The Ravens have their QB of the future, now they need to get him some weapons. You can insert whichever WR is top of their board here.

#23 Washington Redskins (from Houston Texans)

Montez Sweat – EDGE – Mississippi St | After trading down, the Redskins take a chance on a boom or bust edge rusher.

#24 Oakland Raiders (from Chicago Bears)

Greedy Williams – CB – LSU | Raiders need a lot of help on defense and grab one of the top corners in this class. Williams is considered by some to be a top 10 pick.

#25 Philadelphia Eagles

Dalton Risner – OL – Kansas St | The Eagles don’t have many glaring needs so they go with a “comfort” pick. Risner could step in right away at LG.

#26 Indianapolis Colts

Jerry Tillery – DT – Notre Dame |Tillery is an explosive talent. There’s a chance he could end up as a top 15 pick. If he falls, the Colts could add him to an already impressive young defense.

#27 Oakland Raiders (from Dallas Cowboys)

Marquise Brown – WR – Brown | Raiders add Hollywood Brown to pair with his cousin Antonio. This pick just seems to fit the Raiders. They load up talent around Carr.

#28 Los Angeles Chargers

Deandre Baker – CB – Georgia | With the top DTs off the board the Chargers choose not to take a chance on Jeffery Simmons, go BPA and stack up their secondary.

#29 Kansas City Chiefs

Garrett Bradbury – OC – NC State | After losing Mitch Morse, the Chiefs add the top center on the board. Bradburry’s athleticism is a great scheme fit for KC.

#30 Green Bay Packers (from New Orleans Saints)

Nasir Adderley – FS – Delaware | The Pack added Adrian Amos in free agency. The addition of a natural free safety in Adderley allows them to move Amos into his more natural strong safety position.

#31 Los Angeles Rams

Elgton Jenkins – OL – Mississippi St | Rams add the top interior lineman on the board. Jenkins has the ability to step in at either center or guard right away.

#32 New York Giants (from Seattle Seahawks from New England Patriots)

*Trade – New York sends picks #37, #108, and #180 to Seattle for #32

Drew Lock – QB – Missouri | The Giants trade back into the 1st to take a chance on the next best QB on the board. The Seahawks are happy to trade back and gather picks.
