This roster seems to be a list of the under appreciated greats, which may explain their fall out of the first 2 rounds. Another stacked o-line combined with a HoF running back, quarterback, and (should already be) wide receiver makes this a very dynamic offense. The run game would utilized the athleticism at the guard spot, using a lot of G and power. The offense would run out of a base 11 personnel, with Ward at the Z, Owens at the X, and Smith in the slot. Witten at the Y in tight, with Sanders coming in as a blocking back and in 2 tight end heavy sets. Graham would be utilized in 4 wide and redzone scenarios. Martin takes the lead back role, with Gore being utilized in short yardage, and Westbrook taking 3rd down back duties. Charles would be the overall change of pace and share 3rd down back duties.
The defense would run out of a 4-2-5 Cover 3 look. The front would have Taylor and Mann at the ends, McMichael at the 1 tech, and Harvey Martin come inside at the 3 tech. Porter would be brought in as a pass rushing specialist. Nitschke at the Mike and Huff at the Will. Lynch at the strong safety and Lary at the free. Williams and Blount would anchor the outsides, with Barber playing a combo nickel/roaming safety.
Jacoby Jones would handle the return duties (struggled with taking him over Allen Rossum or Terry Metcalf). Jack Del Rio takes the head coaching spot, being a 3rd round pick by the Saints in ’85.
I call this team the Chicago Third-Wheels
