With training camp starting today in RVA, we decided to take a look at what the Redskins 53 man roster looks like right now.

Bold = Starter
Italics = Rookie

Offense

QB: Dwayne Haskins, Case Keenum, Colt McCoy
IR: Alex Smith
I think Haskins will impress enough in camp to win over the starting job, leaving Keenum as the backup. McCoy is probably Gruden’s favorite of the 3, making him hard to cut.

RB: Derrius Guice, Chris Thompson, Adrian Peterson, Byron Marshall
PUP: Bryce Love
Cut: Samaje Perine
A (somewhat) healthy Guice steps into the starting role, splitting time with AD. Chris Thompson continues with role as 3rd down/change of pace back. The final spot comes down to two guys Gruden has gushed over in the past. In the end, I think Marshall earns the spot over Perine. 4th round pick Bryce Love starts the season off on the PUP list.

WR: Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn, Cam Sims, Terry McLaurinKelvin Harmon
Cut:  Brian Quick, Robert Davis, Jehu Chesson
Last years Mr. Irrelevant steps into the starting role in the slot. Cam Sims takes some big steps forward. Both rookies have the abilities to win starting jobs in this struggling position group

TE: Jordan Reed, Vernon Davis, Jeremy Sprinkle
Cut: Matt Flanagan, JP Holtz , Donald Parham
Seems like the 3 TEs are locked down, but don’t sleep on Donald Parham. The 6’8″ standout from Stetson could earn his way onto the roster as a huge redzone threat.

T: Trent Williams, Morgan Moses, Geron Christian
G: Brandon Sherff, Wes Martin, Ereck Flowers, Tony Bergstrom
C: Chase Roullier, Ross Pierschbacher
Cut:  Timon Parris, Tyler Catalina , Casey Dunn
4 of the 5 starting spots are locked down. They brought in Ereck Flowers, but he’s been a huge disappointment (no surprise there). The LG spot will come down to one of the 2 rookies stepping up, Martin or Pierschbacher. Even if Martin wins the job, I think they’ll keep Flowers on the roster because of his ability to “play” tackle, unless they bring in another tackle. Either way, no one should feel comfortable going into the season with Christian/Flowers as the only backup options at tackle.

Defense

DL: Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, Matt Ioannidis, Tim Settle, Caleb Brantley
Cut: JoJo Wicker, Ryan Bee
The best position group on the team.

OLB: Ryan Kerrigan, Montez Sweat, Ryan Anderson, Jordan Brailford, Cassanova McKinzy
Cut: Marquis Flowers, Andrew Ankrah
Montez Sweat works his way into the starting role over Ryan Anderson. McKinzy makes his way onto the roster because of special teams abilities, leaving Brailford on the bubble.

ILB: Jon Bostic, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Josh Harvey-Clemons, Cole Holcomb
IR: Rueben Foster
Cut: BJ Blunt
Cutting Mason Foster shows us 2 things. They are happy with FA signing Jon Bostic and they like what they see out of the 3 young guys. Shaun Dion Hamilton steps into the starting role with Josh Harvey-Clemons coming in as a passing down backer. Interested to see if Cole Holcomb can impress during camp and play his way into some playing time.

CB: Josh Norman, Quinton Dunbar, Fabian Monroe, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Adonis Alexander
NCB: Jimmy Moreland, Greg Stroman
Cut: Danny Johnson
The top 3 seem to be set, with Norman, Dunbar, and Monroe. DRC is interesting because I fully expected them to try and transition him into a FS. I think it’s likely we’ll see him in a versatile backup role. 7th-round pick Jimmy Moreland has looked impressive during OTAs, which is no surprise to me (check out the draft profile I did for Moreland over at HogsHaven.com). I believe he will wind up the starting nickle corner. The last spot(s) will come down to 3 guys, Greg Stroman, Adonis Alexander, and Danny Johnson. I think Alexander makes it off his potential alone. The final spot (if they keep 7 corners) would go to Stroman. This position group with be one of the biggest story-lines in training camp.

S: Landon Collins, Montea Nicholson, Deshazor Everett,  Troy Apke
Cut: Jeremy Reaves, JoJo McIntosh
This groups appears to be set, with Nicholson starting alongside Collins assuming nothing comes of his off the field troubles. The big question mark for me here is Troy Apke. Apke looked completely lost last season, so unless he takes some big steps forward, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get beat out in camp.

K: Dustin Hopkins
P: Tress Way
LS: Nick Sunberg
